Chromium Nicotinate Glycinate Chelate

Chromium(III) nicotinate glycinate chelate

Chromium nicotinate glycinate chelate is a trivalent chromium amino-acid chelate in which the chromium ion is bound by both nicotinic acid and glycine ligands (CAS 1208240-55-4), supplied under chelate designations such as TRAACS/Albion. It is manufactured synthetically as a standardized chelate rather than a stoichiometric salt, and because it is a dilute chelate matrix it carries a low elemental chromium load of roughly 2 to 2.5% as sold, far below the organic picolinate and polynicotinate near 12% and the inorganic chloride near 19.5%. Its combined nicotinate-and-glycinate ligand set distinguishes it from the single-ligand picolinate and from the histidine-based histidinate. It is provided as a powder and manufactured in capsule, tablet and powder formats.
