Acerola Extract (Natural Vitamin C)

Acerola Extract is a naturally sourced vitamin C ingredient consisting of L-ascorbic acid (CAS 50-81-7, C6H8O6) concentrated from the fruit of the acerola cherry, Malpighia emarginata. It is produced by extracting and drying the fruit, then standardizing the concentrate to a stated natural vitamin C content, commonly in the 17 to 25 percent range. Unlike the synthetic ascorbic acid and ascorbate salts in this family, it is a plant-derived, vegan and non-GMO botanical concentrate that carries the fruit matrix rather than an isolated single molecule, so its per-gram vitamin C load is lower than that of the pure isolates. It is supplied as a powder and manufactured into capsule, tablet and powder formats.
