Quercetin dihydrate

2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-4H-chromen-4-one dihydrate

Quercetin dihydrate is the dihydrate crystalline form of the flavonol aglycone quercetin (2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-4H-chromen-4-one dihydrate, CAS 6151-25-3), carrying two molecules of water of crystallization that raise its molecular weight to 338.27 versus the 302.23 of the water-free grade. It is plant-derived and supplied as a >=95% HPLC crystalline powder, the most widely traded commercial quercetin grade. Unlike the family's glycoside forms, isoquercitrin and EMIQ, it is the sugar-free aglycone, and unlike the phospholipid phytosome it is a single defined molecule rather than a complex. We manufacture it into capsules, tablets and powders.
