d-alpha-tocotrienol (CAS 1721-51-3) est l'homologue alpha de la série des tocotrienols, se distinguant de l'alpha-tocopherol par une chaîne latérale isoprénoïde insaturée portant trois doubles liaisons à la place de la chaîne phytyle saturée. Cette insaturation abaisse sa masse moléculaire à 424.7 g/mol (C29H44O2) par rapport au tocopherol correspondant. Il est dérivé de l'huile de palme ou de son de riz, isolé en tant que composant du complexe de tocotrienols et dosé par HPLC. En tant qu'huile liposoluble à phénol libre, il est fourni pour capsules molles, gélules et liquides.
