Carbonyl Iron ist fein verteiltes hochreines elementares (metallisches) Eisen in der Oxidationsstufe null (CAS 7439-89-6, Fe), hergestellt durch die thermische Zersetzung von Eisenpentacarbonyl. Da es kein salzbildendes Anion oder keinen Liganden enthält, ist es der konzentrierteste Eisen-Inhaltsstoff der Familie, typischerweise 97% oder mehr elementares Eisen bezogen auf das Gewicht.
