Potassium aspartate is the potassium salt of the amino acid L-aspartic acid (CAS 7259-25-8), supplied as the hemihydrate and produced from fermentation- or enzyme-derived aspartic acid rather than from an inorganic mineral. It is an amino-acid salt rather than an inorganic or organic-acid salt, delivering about 22% elemental potassium, above the gluconate (~17%) but below the chloride and phosphate forms. It is frequently paired with magnesium aspartate in combination electrolyte products. We manufacture it as a crystalline powder pressed into tablets or filled into capsules.
