Le lactate ferreux est le sel de fer(II) de l'acide lactique (CAS 5905-52-2, C6H10FeO6), généralement fourni sous forme de trihydrate et également reconnu comme la source de fer additif alimentaire E585. Sur le plan de la teneur élémentaire, il se situe entre les autres sels d'acides organiques de la famille, à environ 24% de fer anhydre et environ 19% sous forme de trihydrate, plus élevée que le gluconate ferreux mais plus faible que le fumarate ferreux. Le fer est à l'état d'oxydation réduit +2 et le sel est soluble dans l'eau. Nous le fabriquons sous les formats poudre, liquide et comprimé.
