Le polypeptide de fer héminique est un hydrolysat enzymatique d'hémoglobine animale (bovine ou porcine) dans lequel le fer reste lié à l'intérieur de la molécule d'hème porphyrinique plutôt que présent sous forme de sel ou de chélate libre. Il est obtenu par digestion enzymatique de l'hémoglobine en une fraction d'hème liée à des peptides et normalisée, puis normalisé par titrage à sa teneur en fer héminique, qui est faible, de l'ordre de 1-2% en poids. En tant qu'ingrédient d'origine animale, c'est la seule forme non végane de la famille ; il est sans gluten mais ne convient pas aux produits végans. Nous le fabriquons en gélules et en comprimés.
